Upper Llagas Reports and Documents

Public review documents and reports related to the Upper Llagas Creek Flood Protection Project are listed below.

Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act, the water district, as the lead agency for the project, has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) to evaluate environmental impacts of the proposed Project. The DEIR identified potentially significant environmental impacts associated with geology and soils, hydrology and water quality, mineral resources, botanical resources, wildlife resources, aquatic resources, agricultural and forest resources, cultural resources, air quality and greenhouse gases, noise, utilities and public services, recreation resources, and hazards and hazardous materials. The majority of impacts were determined to be less than significant after the implementation of mitigation measures proposed for the Project.

The DEIR has been circulated to local, state, and federal agencies responsible for project approval or permitting for a 45-day review period for comment.

Copies of the DEIR are available for review from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the water district Headquarters Building, 5700 Almaden Expressway, San Jose, CA 95118) starting Monday, January 7, 2014, or,
